What’s the repair process?

The first thing you should do is to choose a good day for doing the repair. It’s not a good idea to repair the chip in humid or extremely cold conditions. Start the chipped windshield repair process by cleaning the crack using some acetone on a piece of clean cloth. Acetone will remove the dirt; however, use it with care because it can also ruin the paint job of your car. Take a razor blade and use its corner to remove any loose glass pieces or any dirt particles that may still be there.

Now, take the repair alignment tool and attach it to the windscreen in a way that the threaded rubber tube is in alignment with the chip. Alignment is the critical factor. The repair tube should be in contact with the chipped area of the windshield. Take a look at the alignment from the inside and if there is any difference, unscrew the rubber tube and correct its position.

After setting up the apparatus put the instructed amount of resin into the threaded tube and tightly screw down the plunger. Let the air bubbles escape by loosening it for a few seconds, and then increase the pressure again. Keep the alignment tool attached to the chipped area for a minute and then remove. Apply the finishing film on top of the repair for a minimum of 10 minutes before removing. Use the razor blade to remove any excess resin.

This is the whole process of chipped windshield repair after which the chip will be almost undetectable. A qualified repair technician can, also be hired to do the job in almost every town.
